Ronal V. Douglass

Ronal V. “R.V.” Douglass, 69, of Arrowhead Estates, died Friday, March 16, 2007, at McAlester Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Crowder Free Will Baptist Church with Brother Richard Crook officiating. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery in Canadian, under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

He was born June 15, 1937, in Wewoka, to William Vodette and June Irene Odom Douglass. He graduated from Holdenville High School and later received his associate’s degree in criminology. He married Clara Louise Nance on Oct. 2, 1956, in Wewoka. He later entered the United States Army, serving until he received his honorable discharge. He moved to Casper, Wyo., where his children were born. He later moved to Oklahoma City for 20 years before retiring in 1982, when he moved to Arrowhead Estates and began selling property in the Arrowhead Estates.

He was a Shriner with the Scottish Rite Temple in McAlester, and was a perpetual member of the Westwood Lodge in Oklahoma City for more than 40 years. He enjoyed traveling, wood working, sports, and auto racing.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Douglas, of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Leslie Robinson, of Oklahoma City, and Rhonda and David Hilterbran, of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Kristin Ford, of Oklahoma City, Haley Lopez and husband, Adam, of Midwest City, Austin and Jackie Hilterbran, of Oklahoma City, and Keith Hilterbran, of Midwest City; a brother and sister-in-law, Errol and Mary Douglas, of Salina, Kan.; a sister, Kestra Brownen, of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Sandifer, Bobby Jones, Bill Johnson, Aron Douglass, David Hilterbran and John Wilson.
